I love my job because I work with so many different people and help them to accomplish their goals.

I feel that one of the characteristics of a truly good person is the desire to help others. Throughout my life, I have sought out opportunities to help others in need. I don’t have unlimited resources or unlimited time, but I do have the ability, the time and the desire to make a positive contribution to my community and to the people who live here. One way I do that is by volunteering and doing my very best on every project I take on. One person at a time, I can help to improve the world. If millions of people committed to helping the millions of people in need, one volunteer project at a time, the world would change for the better. Some of my most rewarding life experiences include serving as a Cub Scout leader and coaching youth soccer, basketball and baseball.

I also feel that I could be a real source of inspiration to anyone who is going through a difficult time or has suffered a loss. Six years ago, my 12-year-old son, Eric, died unexpectedly in his sleep. Eric had always been a healthy, smart, funny and athletic boy with many friends. My heart shattered when he died. For the past six years, I’ve lived with a pain for which there is no cure. However, losing Eric has made me especially empathetic to those who are suffering in some way.

Because the law is so broad and constantly changing and developing, I am always learning something new, which I truly enjoy. I always seek out new opportunities and experiences, such as learning to play the guitar (which I’m doing now) and exploring new places (like moving to Montana).

On the Horizon

I hope to learn new skills, new ideas and new ways of thinking from others. I also hope to learn more about the Billings area and the people who live here.
