Still Running Windows 7? Migrate to Stay HIPAA Compliant—

Free healthcare IT migration consultations available for a limited time.

On January 14, 2020, Microsoft ended all technical support for their Windows 7 operating system. For healthcare companies still running Windows 7, this means a lapse in HIPAA compliancy due to heightened vulnerability to cybercrime along with more operational problems on the horizon. Avitus Group can help you stay compliant & protected.

Save yourself from a HIPAA violation

"The continued use of unsupported operating systems is a violation of HIPAA. If a vulnerability in Windows 7 is exploited after the January 14 deadline and protected health information is exposed, healthcare organizations could face a regulatory fine."

FAQs about Upgrading from Windows 7

Do I need to move my files and programs?

Before moving any of your files and programs, the first thing you should do is back up all of your data and programs. After you upgrade your system, you may need to reinstall some of your programs. Our team can help you determine the best backup methods for your data. Throughout the process, we can also determine if your data is right for hosting within the cloud to allow greater flexibility.

Will my printers, scanners, monitors, and other accessories work?

Most often, devices are designed to work with the operating system that was most common at the time. This could mean that printers and other accessories that run on Windows 7 will soon become obsolete. Ask our team how you can prevent downtime.

Can I just update my operating system?

While some hardware is upgradeable, Microsoft recommends moving to a new PC built for Windows 10.

If a full hardware update isn't in the budget, we do provide financing options that will allow you to take advantage of all the security and productivity benefits now and stretch your investment payments over time.
